QA Engineer – Full Time, New York, NY

Ghostery, a recognized leader in online privacy, is looking for a talented QA Engineer to help us develop and conduct manual and automated tests on our product suite. You’ll be working closely with our Product and Engineering teams to ensure functional requirements are being met and that developed code is fit for production deployment. You will also be responsible for the development and implementation of test automation to drive regression for each of our products. Applicants must be excited to contribute to a highly visible open-source project, and should have a strong desire to make web browsing a safer experience for all.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, and software engineers across multiple Scrum teams
  • Define and maintain a test strategy for all Ghostery infrastructure and consumer-facing products
  • Write and execute test cases (manual and automated), including Functional and Regression tests
  • Drive company wide testing procedures in Unit Testing, UI/UX Testing and Integration Testing
  • Increase test automation by researching and implementing new tools
  • Track overall progress and provide regular status updates
  • Investigate, diagnose, reproduce and report product defects to the product development team
  • Troubleshoot a variety of technical issues reported by Ghostery users

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is preferred
  • 2+ years experience in manual testing
  • 2+ years experience in tooling or QA automation
  • Experience developing and executing automated test suites using Cucumber, Concordion, Selenium or comparable technologies
  • Experience in the development and execution of Test Plans and Scenarios
  • Working knowledge of testing fundamentals such as TDD & BDD
  • Experience with testing complex GUIs, APIs, and platforms
  • Experience with modern Web Browsers and Operating Systems (OSX, Windows, Linux)
  • Excellent research, problem solving, and troubleshooting ability
  • Experience shipping products for a B2C tech company
  • Excellent communication and team building skills
  • Experience using tools such as Jira, Confluence, GitHub, Invision, or similar software

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working with browser extensions, mobile and desktop software applications
  • Previous history working on large-scale B2C projects (>10 million users)
  • Experience with software development frameworks including Go, Java, JavaScript and SQL
  • Experience working in Scrum or other Agile frameworks
  • Prior experience working in / with ad-tech
