Company Timeline

Since 2009, Ghostery has empowered businesses and individuals by helping them create better digital experiences.


February 2016: Ghostery Browser Extension 6.0 is released. 

Summer 2015: Ghostery announces partnerships and integrations with Oracle Marketing Cloud and IBM Digital Analytics.

June 2015: is relaunched with new Trackermap Livescan.

December 2014: Ghostery Privacy Browser v.1.0 for Android devices is launched, a full-featured, stand-alone web browser with functionality from the desktop tool built into the app.

November 2014: Ghostery MCM is officially launched. Ghostery opens its Sandy, Utah office.

April 2014: Evidon and Ghostery becomes Ghostery, Inc.

March 2014: Ghostery opt-in panel data exceeds two billion events per month recorded across more than 150 million web pages.

April 2013: Evidon launches Ad Control, the first mobile application to empower consumers to opt-out of in-app advertising on iOS and Android platforms.

October 2012: Evidon releases Trackermap, the first tool for mapping the redirect chain of website tracking.

July 2012: Evidon becomes the first Approved Provider of compliance services for the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance.

February 2012: Evidon launches Evidon Encompass™, the first cloud-based, tagless solution to reveal hidden tracking across websites.

November 2011: Evidon London office opens.

October 2011: Ghostery Mobile launches on iOS.

January 2011: Better Advertising becomes Evidon, Inc.

October 2010: Digital Advertising Alliance launches, releases the Ad Choices Icon, and selects Better Advertising as the first Approved Provider of Compliance Services.

January 2010: Better Advertising acquires Ghostery.

July 2009: The Better Advertising Project is created, later shortened to Better Advertising, to power the Self-Regulatory Program for Online Behavioral Advertising, better known as the Ad Choices Program.
