Effective Date: April 21, 2014
Ghostery believes deeply in transparency. Our mission is to reveal the invisible web so a consumer can see what companies are tracking him and organizations can see what vendors are on its website. We’re dedicated to improving the online ecosystem by helping people and businesses see, understand and control how data is collected and used across the web—for advertising, e-commerce and more. Transparency for everyone.
This Privacy Statement governs information you share with us, including personal information, when you use the website. It explains how we may collect, use, and in some instances, share this personal information. This Privacy Statement applies to all personal information received on this Website. This Privacy Statement does not govern Ghostery's services and products that we provide to consumers, businesses, advertisers, publishers, and other participants in the online marketplace. Those services and products have their own privacy statements that can be found in Ghostery’s Privacy HQ.
Ghostery has further committed to refer unresolved privacy complaints under the US-EU and US-Swiss Safe Harbor Principles to an independent dispute resolution mechanism, the BBB EU SAFE HARBOR, operated by the Council of Better Business Bureaus (the “BBB”). If you do not receive timely acknowledgment of your complaint, or if your complaint is not satisfactorily addressed by Ghostery, please visit the BBB EU SAFE HARBOR web site at http://www.bbb.org/us/safe-harbor-complaints for more information and to file a complaint.

We do not we allow third parties on our website to collect personally identifiable information across time or websites. In other words, we don’t engage in online behavioral advertising.
Third party providers who service our website, like the Purple Box blog, may also employ a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs), that help them better manage content on our site. Clear Gifs are not cookies. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user's computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. Ghostery does not connect the information gathered by clear gifs to any user’s personal information.
