What is the GDPR and How Does it Affect
The EU’s new data protection regulation, the GDPR, will impact most companies and may become a de facto US National Privacy Law, at least for those companies that offer their products or services to EU citizens.
With the aim to give control of personal data back to the individual, companies will need to review their process and deploy a rigorous notice and consent regime.
ACCOUNTABILITY IS KEY
The GDPR requires companies to be accountable for their data practices, something we can all agree with. Accountability will require internal monitoring and reporting, including impact assessments to determine the privacy risk to your customers, as well as deploying the right privacy controls.
