Blocked Elements

Hide page elements filter lists don't catch

What it does

Sticky bars, newsletter popups, promo overlays — things filter lists miss because they're not technically ads. Hide them with a CSS selector and they stay gone.

.sticky-header
.newsletter-popup
#promo-bar
Saved per site: .sticky-header, .newsletter-popup, #promo-bar
Hover an unwanted element, copy its selector, hide it forever on that site.

How it works

Use your browser's DevTools to grab a selector, paste it in, and Ghostery hides matching elements on every visit to that site.

What you get

  • Remove sticky headers and floating footers
  • Hide newsletter popups and promo overlays
  • Saved per-domain, applied automatically
  • Standard CSS selectors — no plugins required

Turn it on

Find it under: Website Settings → open a site → Blocked Elements.
