Browser Redirect Protection

Stop links that detour through trackers or unknown sites

What it does

Some links send you through a tracking redirect, or on to a site you never meant to visit. Browser Redirect Protection stops those pages from loading and shows you where the redirect was going, so you decide whether to continue.

Redirect Alert

This page was prevented from loading due to a known tracking redirect to:

example.com/article

To visit the intended page, you need to allow this redirect.

I understand the risk, don't warn me again about this site
Back Proceed
Ghostery shows where the redirect leads. You choose whether to go back or proceed.
Turn Browser Redirect Protection on or off, and manage your exceptions.

How it works

When a page you open redirects through a known tracker, Ghostery stops it and shows a Redirect Alert with the destination. If the destination is unknown and could be malicious, you see a Security Alert instead. Go back, or proceed and choose not to be warned about that site again. Those sites are listed under Exceptions, where you can also add or remove them yourself.

What you get

  • See where a redirect leads before it loads
  • Stops redirects to unknown, possibly malicious sites
  • Go back, or proceed if you trust the destination
  • Add trusted sites to your exceptions, and remove them at any time

Turn it on

Find it under: Privacy protection → Redirect Protection → Browser Redirect Protection.
